Hi and welcome to the revamped itchy animation, there's been some spring cleaning and the site has been updated to get rid of the frames and use CSS instead.

The main reason for this is that, as you may know, I have been writing a book on light which the tutorial on this site will form a small part of. Once I finish the manuscript in september I have big plans for the website: I am hoping to provide many more tutorials and update far more regularly.

Writing a book has been a great experience, however I am starting to think that it may make more sense to try and reach people directly via the web. The site already attracts over 20 000 unique visitors every month, and with advertising it may well turn out to be more profitable to provide content that way than by traditional publishing.

So from around October expect to see two main changes: firstly some adverts will appear alongside the content, at the moment I'm thinking of sticking to simple Amazon referrals to books which I've read and recommend, at least that way I have some control over what is being advertised and can be sure I actually endorse it. The second big change is that there will be far more frequent updates, and lots of new tutorials on digital art - all of the content will be provided for free and paid for by the advertising.

Hopefully this will make the site far more useful and everyone will benefit. If you have any thoughts feel free to drop me an email at frog@itchy-animation.co.uk

All the best for now,

Richard.
